Multi RS and Wallbox

Hello, I have a Multi RS Solar powered by 2 × 8 500 W solar panels (the sky is often cloudy), and I’m considering installing a 7.4 kW wallbox. Given that the Multi RS Solar is limited to around 5 kW, I would occasionally need to increase this output by at least 3 kW when using the wallbox. The installation has six Pylontech US5000 batteries. Is there a Victron inverter that could synchronise with the Multi RS Solar and provide additional power? Or should I consider buying a MultiPlus II dedicated solely to this wallbox? Thank you.

Hi, no. You can’t mix units and have individual systems sharing a battery. This is not supported.
Various unsupported configs exist, these tend to be discussed in the modifications section, but you need to understand that you will be responsible for support and custom integration will be needed, something that isn’t for everyone.
Like any modification, because you can make it work, does not mean it will keep working as the software/firmware evolves.

Thanks Wouldn’t adding a microinverter be a solution?

Or consider buying two more Multi RS units and powering the wall box with three-phase power.

3-phase configs are supported, that is one way to do it.
A PV inverter on the output can help with power, but the RS still needs to be capable of supplying the load while AC solar is ramped up.
Being on grid would make this easier, but an off-grid installation needs a capable inverter.

Got it, thanks
