There is the recommendation in the manual of the MPPT RS 450 that there should be 30cm space above and below the mppt due to heat (a mppt Rs 100 could in my estimate produce a worsted case 150-250W of heat assuming 97/96% efficiency at peak times)
So I wondering if I can mount 2 MPPT RS in a 19ā Rack facing each other on either side of the rack?
Is there a recommendation on horizontal distances I should heed - say 30cm facing each other?
Alternatively: if I would decide to put them back to back (on a metal plate in the middle of the rack for example) would there be any issues heat wise?
And yes: I intend to put in extra ventilation (on top) to get the heat moved away.
Have a bit of separation if back to back so they are not blasting each other, yes use a fan to clear the build up near the top. (The heat will build up. 2x mppts = 500W of heat it is alot.)
Thanks for the confirmation, but I guess 30 cm is the least space that is practical - one still has to access/see the front side at irregular intervals
And yes: because of this image in the Manual I was actually asking this question (and did that heat calculation for an individual MPPT RS)
