We have 4 x mppts, 2 x 100/50, 1 x 100/30 & 1 x 75/15 all are smart solar mppts and all networked together and have been working great with all showing correct values, today they were showing an updated version to V1.68 which I performed but now one of the 100/50 units is showing a battery voltage of approximately 0.8 of a volt higher than all the others, I’ve tried to reset that controller which made no difference, can someone maybe explain as to why its reading so uch higher than the rest after this update, I’ve checked all the settings on all units which are all the same, all 12v units.
Somehow the firmware 1.68 seem to cause a “lot” of problems. Especially the MPPT 100/xx seem to be more affected. Many people report this here.
If you tried to do a hard reset, disconnecting battery and solar for ~10 second or so, and it does not fix it, then a downgrade to e.g. 1.64 might be a solution.
A friend of mine had also some trouble (the solar power was dropping sporadically to 0W), and also switched back to 1.64 and the performance is back again.
Hi, are you still having the issue and has victron said anything about it? Im leary to update our MPPT to this version.
Actually no, after a few days it seems to have settled down and now all units are reading the same voltage.
Just want to give everyone a heads-up. You may already be aware, the firmware update v1.68 on the 100/20 de-energizes the load terminals before the firmware upload to completed. In my case the computers pushing the firmware update are on the load line. I did not remember this being the case for the earlier firmware updates. I was able to go to each remote site (very time consuming) and use the phone app to complete the update and get the 100/20s back online. Hope this helps.
