I had to do some firmware updates on MP II’s and ran into a serious error where the number 4 in the following screenshot wasn’t true. It did NOT set the charge current to zero. Instead it tried to charge with 50A from the grid, and that times three is too much for a lot of batteries. I had no idea, but the customer said: “Hold on. Why are we pulling that many amps?” We quickly reacted. Stopped the charging by pressing the emergency button. This is outright dangerous! Could have ended very VERY badly.
Note: 16A AC basically means charging with 70A DC and 32A AC makes 140A DC. Already close to the max of 0.5C. Let alone 50A.
Sure. The BMS should step in, but sometimes there’s nothing you can do. Then you can’s change settings and your Victron kits needs to act like it should.
On a side note. Can you please make everything work without the need for a Windows OS. I mean come on. In this time and erra. With so many MAC/iOS devices. Victron is way WAY behind other companies where Windows is no longer required.
