Mounting a MultiPlus II 24/3000 horizontally

I’m mounting a MultiPlus II 24/3000 in a travel trailer.

My initial plan was to put it on the wall, in the nose. I later realized that having the MP and the battery up front would be way too much tongue weight, so I moved everything closer to the axles.

It’s possible to mount it vertically, like the instructions say. But for space constraints as well a low center of gravity, I’d like to go horizontally.

In reality, how bad is to do a horizontal mount? I think the loads on the inverter will be fairly low (usually under 1,000W) with occasional short peaks for a kettle, or maybe 30 minutes for a meal. I have the ability to add fans, or even a 3D printed duct with fan if needed.

It’s done all the time. Keep at least 10mm of clearance on each side and add a fan if quarters are tight. You will be fine.

Thanks - this will make things easier. Much easier.

Cool. Click solution if you don’t mind. Thanks

All that is needed is to type “horizontal mount” into the search bar and answers would pop up. The forum would also have recommended these topics while typing in the description.
Searching is your friend..

Sorry to step on your toes, and thanks for the warm welcome.

I did search, and I looked at the suggested topics. None of them (that I saw) were the exact model I was using, and I had details that were not included in the original question.

But now that I know the mood of this forum, I’ll be more careful with questions.

There is no architectural difference between different sized MP2’s.
As a technical forum we try reduce the noise that is created by the many, many repetitive topics that get created.
The overwhelming majority of answers are either already in the manuals or in existing topics which can be contributed to but few choose to consult.
The old archive is also available via google search.
