MG4 V2L Multiplus II Off grid Issue

Hi, we have an off grid cabin with multiplus 2, a solid battery bank, solar panels and a generator.

We currently borrow an MG4 and were keen to test its V2L function; I thought I could just plug in the generator plug in the V2L adapter.

However we simply can’t make it work. Whenever the multiplus tries to relay in (we hear the clicking from the relays) power from the V2L, the MG4 just stops power entirely and the V2L adapter doesn’t provide power

I tried everything… reducing inverter current to 1A, unplugging batteries, charge only, inverter only, power off all the fuses… nothing helps

It really seems like something happens when the relays switch on. What can I do?

Have also tested installation options with the MK2 ve bus to usb adapter, as I do have background as an electrician… like the weak AC input and a load of other things. Only thing I haven’t touched is the ground relay option, which is on

Any suggestions would be great.
