Lynx Smart BMS NG Connection to Venus OS on RPi?

Hi there,

We‘ve got a Lynx Smart BMS NG, which I would like to connect to a Raspberry Pi running Venus OS.

I‘ve purchased the MK3 USB adapter, which does not work, because it is for VE.Bus [but the BMS to RPi requires a VE.Can connection]. Since VE.Can is RJ45 connection (Ethernet look-alike cable), I thought the MK3 USB adapter would work. - The only Victron product I could find is the CANUSB adapter, which retails in the Uk for about 450gbp / 515euro.

Does anybody know an alternative product or approach to connect BMS to RPi? - BlueTooth does not work either, as VE.Can is not supported via BlueTooth.

The Ve bus is RS485 based, not CAN. There are cheaper CAN adapters for a raspberry pi, though you may have to create a driver to make them work. The cheap ones have an SPI interface.
