Jk BMS B2A8S20P + JP-Plink board to connect with Cerbo GX

Hi all

I have a Jk BMS B2A8S20P + Jk-P-Link board connected to the BMS-Can port of the cerbo GX using the Victron Type A cable. In the JK BMS I have selected the can protocol to 4 (Victron) and I have enabled the BMS-Can port in the cerbo. But I am not able to see anything coming into the Cerbo. I have tried 2 different JK BMSs and different P-Link boards.

Any advice?

Could you post a photo of the Link circuit board? The address should probably be on DIP Adress 1.
In another post, the Type A cable did NOT need to be connected to the BMS CAN port; instead, it worked on the VE-CAN connector… For whatever reason…:thinking:

What is your Can port setting (500 kbs)

I cannot not use the Ve.Can port as that one is used to connect with the Raymarine network at 250kbits, thus, the only available option is BMS-Can at 500kbits

You could try a “Pylontech Protokoll” in the JK BMS if available … Is the firmware up to date?

Yes, this is the video I used to as source of inspiration. But on his video he already has a JK BMS inverter connected, the. He does the switch to the B series BMS

I called JK, they told me that to communicate with the Cerbo or the inverters you need this card with the Plink card

Basically these are the same steps I have followed. But i have realized that my BMS do not have written GPS, but UART. Not sure if this will be the cause of the GPS label

This may or may not help. I don’t have anything special going on with my JK-B2A8S20P. UART1 protocol is set for 001 and communicates fine with my Cerbo GX using the factory RS-485-to-USB adapter.

is the cable, I got same problem one year ago, type A and Type B do not worked for me, you need to check the cable pins in the internet for this BMS and made the cable yourself, this is the way I solved it I think it could be your case

Hello all

Quick update. I bought a new BMS directly from JK and all the issues were resolved. It seems to be a firmware issue on my other JK BMS, as the BMS were talking to each other but not to the Cerbo. Now, the new BMS is acting as a master, consolidating the data from the other 2 BMS and passing it to the Cerbo, where I can see the 3 batteries.

Also, I am using the cable Type A

For BMS, my master BMS is a JKBMS B2A8S30P-HCR with CAN Bus Heating RS485 and Active Balance BMS Balance Current 2A
