How to setup EMS with EasySolar 11 GX n 3 way switch

EasySolar 11 GX and separate EMS setup

Hi Phil,

Please can you clarify your question? What exactly are you trying to achieve, and what equipment do you currently have?

Equipment I have is 99 Coaster Bus - Sure power to Progressive Industries EMS-HW50C unit to 3 way transfer switch (S1-S0-S2) to (S1) to Mains panel (15A Circuit-Breaker) to Load (S2) 4x415W serial x2 @24v parallel = 48v (optimum operating voltage is 180v) Panels to Mppt 250/100 (25A Circuit-Breaker) to Titanium (LTO)batteries EasySolar 2 GX(Multiplus2)48v 5000/70-50 out to Mains (15A Circuit-Breaker then to Load (S0 off)

What I’m trying to figure out is … Q1) we have 3 wires for 240v here in Oz, question, where does the 4th wire connect to ? or do I leave it out. (we have 1 hot which is the red one the black is the neutral & green for ground) this device has a black hot wire, a red hot wire, and a white neutral wire) and a 8 gauge conductor (green ground wire)where does the 4th wire white get connected to ? Q2) Does my diagram work/functional or should I eliminate the switch, appreciate your advice, thankyou. Phil

looks like this?

Presume you have the 240V 50A version?

US colours are black for L1 and red for L2 (or vice versa). So it looks like you might have a US 120 - 0 - 120V version. personally, I would ditch that, and install an isolating transformer, and new AC wiring if the colours don’t match your local standard.

what diagram? 3 way transfer switch is ok, but the easy solar should have a transfer switch built in, so it would be better to use that.

Solar panels give about 34A at 48v, so the MPPT unit is way over size.., however, probably selected for the operating voltage….

try looking for the Victron wiring unlimited ebook on the Victron downloads area.

Now I’m confused, if it’s not a 240v why would anyone sell it in Australia - The 240v EMS I purchased see link https://cdn.ltvdns.com/leisurevans.com/owners/3rdparty/Progressive-Ind.-Product-Catalog.pdf page 6 of 8 mayb it’s 2 Phase of 120v each !!!
