How to remotely energy meter grid connection for MultiPlus 2

Hello everyone!

I am gravitating towards a MultiPlus 2 48/3000 and a 48V 100 Ah battery to set up a small home storage for an existing AC-coupled PV.

The place where I would like to install the MultiPlus 2 and the battery have no direct access to the breaker box and grid connection point. However, I could connect the energy meter directly to a Wifi router via a LAN cable or via Wifi.

What would be the simplest way (cheapest, fewest devices), to add a 3-phase energy meter that can interact directly with the MultiPlus II via Wifi?

  • I have read about the Shelly Pro 3EM, but apparently it’s sluggish update rate can lead to oscillations in the inverter output/input.
  • I have also found the EM24 Ethernet meter, but read that it supports only 5 A per phase.

I use the old shelly 3em over wifi on 2 phases. It’s a boss. I run a -100 grid setpoint. I use about 20kwh of grid electricity a month. I have 3 x ESS running off the same meter so my system responds very quickly.

The EM24 you refer to use CT clamps rated 100/5 which is good for 100A per phase.
