How to quickly turn on/off the Multiplus from the new UI?

As a campervan user, there is a single deal breaker for the new UI. In the classic UI it’s exceptionally easy to turn on/off the Multiplus, it’s a simple button on the (RV) screen that toggles the state. The new UI is fiddly and difficult on the 5 inch display, with 5 or 6 individual touches required and what are now very small screen controls.

That aside, I love the new UI, and would much prefer to use it. Please bring back a much easier way to control the state of a Multiplus. Until then I can’t live with it on a 5 inch touch.

Hi Derek,
have you saw the small icon on the top left corner? It opens directly a dialog where you can enable/disable your inverter. So 2 or 3 clicks. For me this is better and quicker.
Maybe you thought you need to do this over the settings menu?

Yes, the I’ve seen that, thanks. But it’s not 2 or 3 clicks.

1, touch to wake the screen (same as classic ui)
2, touch to make the control button visible
3, touch the control button icon (which is tiny on a 5” screen and too close the the bevel)
4, touch the ‘OFF’ word (also very small as only the word is touch sensitive)
5, touch the ‘on’ radio button
6, touch the set button
7, touch the control button again to dismiss the controls window

Compare that to the classic UI, which is far easier and much less fiddly

Your screen shots and UI are great in principle, and if being operated through remote console on a tablet or laptop aren’t too bad. But I seriously doubt your usability labs testing round the process that pleasant on your 5” screen. Especially as the place, ent of the controls button is very close up to the edge of the screen and is tiny. Its size and location make it awkward to touch. The RV screen of the classic UI is less visibly pleasing, I agree with that 100%, but the classic UI usability is far superior on a small screen.

I’ve passed on the feature request @drs68 and discussed it a bit with Matthijs.

I am not sure how it can be made better, but you have been heard.

In the longer run I could see more ‘screens’ getting added, and better framework to allow more customisations, you want a on/off, someone else might want a generator start, and so on.

I am hopeful that will come with time, it was already a lot to launch this new UI as it is, but we aren’t going to stop here.

Thanks for the feedback, and it’s possible to still use the classic UI for now if necessary.

There is much free space here:

Maybe make it double tap or a slider to prevent switching on accident.

Hi Matthias,

Two suggestion, firstly, make getting to that screen in the first place easier. The control button is too small and too close to the screen edge bevel, second, make the whole line touch sensitive and not just the ‘off’ word and make it cycle the states rather than bring up a 2nd window.

Also, maybe make the controls screen auto dismiss after a set time, maybe 10 seconds

These things would help. The main one’s being the controls button.

Add option to make control button always visible

Hi @drs68 and others,

thanks for your reports!

I’m aware; on the GX touch 5" the new UI is fiddly / small. It has our attention.

I would like to add that, on the whole, I think you’ve done an amazing job with the new UI. As I said initially, I much prefer it visually. Congratulations to the team. It’s just that, in a Campervan the thing I do in the UI by far the most is control the Multiplus state.
