Hakadi battery connection

Hello, I have 2 Hakadi battery boxes 48V 280 Ah I’d like to connect to the cerbo. There are 3 RJ45 connetors on the front pannel labelled “RS-485” X2 and one “CAN”. I received a RS-485 to USB adaptator.
What is the best way to connect the batteries to the cerbo? The batteries are connected in parallel.
Great thanks for your help.

I would recommend CAN. Take a look in the BMS configuration app if you can enable Victron protocol on the CAN port. Then set Cerbo CAN to LV battery. You need a special cable, there are Type A and B pinouts available from Victron, or crimp your own. Make sure that the pinout is correct, and it should detect automatically. A regular RJ45 cable won’t suffice. You only need to connect the first battery to Cerbo.

AFAIK using RS485 would require using a serialbattery driver, which you need to install on the Cerbo. It’s a bit more involved process than CAN.

Hello,
I set CAN Inverter on “VCTR” and tried connecting with a homemade cable today. Nothing happened. I have now ordered 2 Victron CAN cables type A and will try again with more trustful material  .
Great thanks for your answer and sorry for the late reply.

Everything is now OK. I’m not proud since I used the “VE Can” instead of “BMS Can” Both battery boxes are connected and displayed as one single device. Values from both boxes are alternatively displayed.
Thanks again.
