Hi all,
Can you explain what should happen in the following situation?
You have a MP2 connected in grid-parallel mode (nothing connected to AC out 1/2). CT measuring grid power at entry to home (230V single phase).
You run ESS with a grid setpoint of 0W
You set the maximum inverter power to 500W
You set a Grid Current Limit of 8A
With loads less than 2340W everything works normally. This is the maximum power the system is able to provide (8A x 230V = 1840W from the grid + 500W from the MP2). Loads less than 500W are compensated for by the MP2 and the grid power is approx 0W.
You now switch on the kettle and try to demand 3000W. You’re now going to exceed the power limits set so what happens? From my testing it appears that the Inverter Power Limit in ESS is overruled and the Grid Current Limit is enforced.
The grid power is limited to 1840W and the MP2’s inverter exceeds the 500W ESS limit in order to provide the required 3000W.
Can anyone confirm this is the expected behaviour?
