From a 1 phase to a 3 phase ESS system

Folks,

I currently operate a single (1) phase system, consisting out of
1 MultiPlus 2 48v/32a/3k
1 Gerbo GX
A Pylontech 48v system. (I believe capacity is irrelevant for the question)

Early 2025 I want to upgrade the system to a 3 phase system and to verify my thinking I’d like to understand tif this can be done by simply adding 2 add. MultiPlus II’s, correct?

My homegrid is a 3x25a NL/230v connection and Phase 2 & 3 powers my induction oven. Which brings me to my 2nd question, is it smart to use higher capacity MP’s to ensure proper coverage for induction system? Such as the 5k ones?

Hi

You can expand the current multiplus 2 3k with 2 more 3k multiplus 2
if there manufacture date is not too far apart
(Ask your victron dealer)

Keep in mind that you would have to triple the minimum battery storage also!

If you want to use bigger inverters (5k) you will need 3, you cant combine 3k with 5k
And also battery storage has to be bigger

But you dont have to, the 3k inverters will power up till 2400w each from pv/battery and grid will support the rest to power your induction oven

Marc, thanks! keeping the MP’s at 3k saves me a good amount of money to spent more on battery capacity
