Hello, I am using CerboGX with recent firmware 3.54. I am a new Victron installer. I’ve been looking for a feature that would allow me to set off an alarm based on the compatible temperature sensors such as Ruuvi tags. For example:
I have a food freezer with expensive items and want an alarm if the temperature goes above 0 for any reason.
I have a plumbing system and want to know if it is freezing due to heater failure in my RV in the middle of the night when I am sleeping
Based on the existing feature set in Venus, I think that an alarm would be easy to implement in the software. I hope that the development team will consider this suggestion. Thank you
In case the sensor reading is accessible in the VRM you can define an alarm on it (VRM → Installation → Settings → Alarm rules).
In case you want local notification (buzzer/siren/…) you can control a relay on the Cerbo (or any connected Inverter/Charger/… that has one, by setting it to manual) using Node Red in Venus Large.
In fact for a local buzzer activated by one of the Cerbo GX relays you set the relay as temperature controlled in Venus OS and control it from there, no need for Node Red. A relay can I believe have multiple trigger devices. The only downside to this is they are not true alarms that can be acnowledged to stop the sounder, you would need to have a switch in the circuit.
