Feature Request: Auto / Scheduled Grid Set Point Control in ESS Mode

Dear Victron Team,

First of all, I would like to thank you for developing such a robust and flexible energy system.
I have been using the Victron system with Cerbo GX and ESS mode, and I truly admire its capabilities,
especially for solar-battery-grid hybrid systems.

However, I have a practical suggestion that can significantly enhance the user experience,
especially for residential users like me:

Request:
Please add a “Scheduled Grid Set Point” feature in the ESS settings, where users can define different
Grid Set Points based on time (or sunrise/sunset).

Why is this important?

  • During the daytime, most users prefer Grid Set Point = 0W for solar priority.
  • At night, users want Grid Set Point = 1000W (or adjustable) for grid priority to save battery backup for emergencies.
  • Manually changing the Grid Set Point twice daily is inconvenient and prone to being forgotten.

Proposed Feature:

  • Schedule Grid Set Point:
    • Example: 06:00 AM to 06:00 PM - Grid Set Point = 0W (Solar Priority)
    • 06:00 PM to 06:00 AM - Grid Set Point = 1000W (Grid Priority)
  • Optionally, a “Follow Sunrise/Sunset” mode can be added.
  • GUI in Cerbo GX / VRM portal should allow setting this easily.

Benefits:

  • Improved battery health and backup availability.
  • Enhanced user convenience.
  • Makes Victron ESS more competitive and user-friendly for residential applications.

I hope you will seriously consider this request as it will solve a major challenge for thousands of
users globally who rely on Victron systems for home energy management.

Thank you once again for creating such a wonderful system. Looking forward to your positive response.

Best regards,
