Excluding Smart Shunt Energy Monitor from "DC Loads"

Hi All,

Battery - > Smart Shunt → Lynx Distributor → SmartShunt Energy Monitor → DC Air Conditioner

In this setup, I have “DC Loads” enabled to estimate all of the DC loads. I would like to exclude the Air Conditioner from the DC loads and have it report its own energy separately. I have the second SmartShunt configured as an Energy Monitor with a Generic DC Load.

Can anyone advise how I can tell the Cerbo to exclude this second SmartShunt from the calculated “DC Loads” ?

Thank you.

Have you tried setting the type to Generic load?

Yes, it is set to generic load.

I would love to display it in the overview tab.

I see it is included under the DC loads submenu.. Just not broken out. Can it be broken out?

Do you need to wire the smartshunt as energy meter directly back to battery negative versus it being counted twice as currently wired?

Could be, I’m very surprised you don’t seem to be able to do this in software.

@chicagoandy If you wire it like this then the SmartShunt monitoring the battery will not see the ac load coming from the battery and the battery SOC will be in error. I suggest that you do not this. The only way around would then be to create a virtual battery in Node Red and try to integrate the two items.
