EVSE wont shows "disconnected" under all conditions

I’m struggling to make my newly installed EVCS NS work with either of our EVs. Both are VW MEB platform. I’ve tried two known good charging cables and I can’t get the charger to connect to either vehicle in any state of “ignition” - it just says disconnected.

I’ve tried several factory resets and had a look arround here to see if others have run into this. There is mention here of a control pilot calibration sometimes fixing this issue but I don’t see this option in my FW version (2.05). Has it been made automatic and therefore removed? Is there a way to force it?

Zs measuerd at the charger is 0.17ohms (just wired single phase).

Probably unrelated but when I first installed this I set it up with “UK” in the region selection and it immediatly displayed “E-06 light sensor IC fault” alongside “disconnected”. I think it may be missing the UK mandated tamper kit. I have worked arround this by telling it that it’s in Germanay. It would be good to get that sorted too but lets make it charge first…

I did take the front off to have a look inside and see wether anything was obviouly ammiss. Can’t see anything that looked wrong. What else can I try?

@Lpopescu do you have any suggestions?

Hi, sorry to hear this! Yes, I have some sugestions for you:
Start by checking if there is 12V (DC) between CP and GND. If there isn’t , open the EVCS and verify the CP connector on the PCB. There were few cases with that connector unplugged, probably during transport. The connector is labeled on the PCB.
Please let me know if that was the issue.

Looks like there is 12v in the right place. This is what you meant right?

Tried with a friend’s hyundai and a third cable today in case there was something it didn’t like about VWs. Same result unfortunatly.

yes, but check that on the output side of the charging connector, or even better, directly on the charging cable

Seems to have 12VDC at the vehicle end of the cable as well.

Any other ideas Lucian? I also found this thread:

I havn’t tried a diode or resistor but I can do that if you let me know appropritate values.

I should have added in my initial report that the vehicle(s) do notice that something is in the chage port and that it is a charger. If I put the bare cable into the car with the other end disconnected I get a different error in the vehicle to when the cable is in the charger. In this case the vehicle says “follow instructions on charge point”

I downgraded the firmware to 2.01. Vechicle still showed as disconnected after the reboot. I did a manual CP calibration and it has started working. Is there some method to force it to calibrate CP in firmware 2.05?

Hi, sorry, I was traveling for the last period and I didn’t answer. Can you put back the latest FW and then try again? I will write you a PM, if it’s not working, please reply me in there with the VRM portal ID, so I can take a look.
