EVCS tunning in zero feed in for auto mode

Hello,

my system include :

  • 1 multiplus 3kVA with 2kWc of solar panels on a MPPT solarcharger + 2.4 kWc on a Fronius Primo 3.0 + 1 Pylontech US 5000 battery. The grid setting point is set to 0 W, AC and DC feed in disabled
  • 1 EVCS Victron with screen and last FW 2.4

I’ve tuned EVS settings to start the charge at 87% SOC with options “Allow battery/grid power for auto mode” and “Allow low excess solar power for auto mode” enabled, Battery/grid power timeout = 5 min.

The setting "Stop charging at backup battery SoC, if Off Grid " is tuned at 85% (even if it shouldn’t do anything as the system is '“On Grid”.

I know that my installed solar power (4.4 kWc) is a little low to charge a car, but my goal is to check all can work correctly with very good sunny weather before adding more panels.

What I see:

  • charging the car starts correctly when battery SOC raise to 87% SOC
  • then charging current is driven correctly varring with available sun power
  • But when sun goes lower, charging doesn’t stop and discharge pylontech battery

I read the modbus register file, but information level is very poor in it, specially for 5065→5093 wich seems dedicated to the automode algorithm : as information we have only a 60 character max description, a range and a unit.

=> I don’t manage to guess tunning requested to get teh behavior I’m waiting for.

Is it possible to get details about used algorithms to allow proper settings.

I understand that detecting available solar power in a zero feed in system could be tricky, but it is what I’m waiting for from Victron experience.

The solution to developp an Home Assistant algorithm to drive the EVCS in manual mode through modbus i spossible, but it was not what I was targeting by buying this EVCS

Have a nice sunny day,

Benoit
