EVCS waiting for sun

Dear community,

I would like my EV CS to charge my car until the charging limit (car settings) has been reached or after two hours - whatever happens first.

However, charging does not start when in auto-mode. Using manual mode works fine.

System: EM540, Cerbo GX, 3x MultiPlus-II 48/5000/70, 30 kWh battery, EVCS
Car: Tesla Model 3

I assume the system works as designed, but I obviously don’t understand the settings. Could you please tell me the settings I should adjust to achieve the desired behavior?

Kind regards,
Sven

The auto-mode needs enough excess PV energy to start.

So your ESS battery needs to be full and your normal house loads have to be covered by PV and there is still enough PV power going to the grid.

Thanks for your fast response!

As these days are dark and there is hardly any PV yield, I would like to have the EV charged for the set maximum of 120 minutes using grid and the battery until it hits the 40 % SoC. I thought this could be achieved by the settings chosen my me.

It took us a while to get our head around the waiting for sun with settings the same as yours.

The charger will not start until there is excess sun, it needs to cover your loads and be a certain value above, the value can be seen via modbus. The ESS battery needs to be above your set 40% soc as well.

We got around it by using node red, have a similar flow for switching back to auto.
