I seem to have en issue with my EV Charger. Whenever my wife’s Fiat 500e is done charging the contactor for the three phase lines intermittently activates and deactivates. See this movie: relay_clicking.mov
Strangely enough, this does not happen with my Tesla Model 3.
I found a similar thread on the old community forum, that states that this is a calibration issue. However, it is my understanding that the CP line calibration is now done automatically (the manual calibration button is gone at least). The EV Charger is running firmware v2.05.
Also, I have measured the CP signal with my oscilloscope and the Fiat 500e does it by the book. Nothing to put a finger on here. It is fully charged and not requesting charge, so the voltage of the duty cycle should be ~9V. That is as expected:
The yellow line is the CP signal and the purple is the contactor. Hence the relay activates, while the car is only applying enough resistance to pull the CP signal to 9V (which means connected, but no charge requested).
How can I solve this? The post from the old forum seems solved by help from a Victron staff member, so no obvious solution here.
I’m still pretty convinced that the car is doing what it should here, but I may be wrong. I do notice that the voltage is actually a bit lower than what I would have expected at 8.2V - 8.4V.
What are the threshold margins that the voltages can be off compared to the standard? And wouldn’t the auto calibration compensate for this?
While I was doing this test I noticed the charging station alerted my that a new firmware version was available (2.08), but I cannot find anything on it in the changelog document on Victron Professional (?). Nor does it seem to be publicly available yet.
