Error 11 after setting country code (Grid) on EasySolar-II GX

,

Hello everyone,

I have an EasySolar-II GX installed in a converted truck. At the moment, I’m parked on a plot of land with access to the grid, but about 1,200 meters away from the main electricity meter (the cable size and distribution panels were designed for this distance).

I wanted to test the ESS assistant without grid feed-in. To do that, I had to enter the country code (Grid), and since then I’ve been getting Error 11 – Grid relay test failed.
I can no longer connect to the grid.
It’s impossible to change this parameter again, even after removing the assistant.
I even tried to restore an old configuration file (.vsc) via VRM, but I keep getting the missing password message.

I really need to remove this setting, especially since I travel between different countries with my vehicle.
I don’t actually need the assistant — I only wanted to test it to see how it behaved, as I was planning to stay in one place for about six months.

Thanks in advance for your help!
If anyone has encountered this issue after adding a country code, I’d really appreciate any advice on how to properly disable it.

You can’t get a password from your Victron supplier to change the grid code?

If that’s the only solution, I’ll call them tomorrow, but they’re just resellers, not installers.

I can’t give details but if that fails:

  1. Sign up at professional.victronenergy.com, watch a video, and get the password.
  2. Or cleverly (not here) Google for a password.

Not recommended but sometimes, you must close your eyes and do what must be done. Remember philosophically, if nobody saw anything, you didn’t do it :winking_face_with_tongue:

FYI error 11 is a wiring fault related code. So something there doesn’t meet code.

But yeah being a in a truck means you don’t meet a grid standard mobile installs are usually done a little differently in terms of grounding and bonding.
ESS should not be used in mobile installs.

Summary

There is another option that is solar wind priority.
