Hi, I’m new to this forum. I have a big question: every time I try to change the country/grid code standard option, the system asks me for a password to make the parameter modification. I was told that the password was zzz, but the system doesn’t recognize it and won’t let me change that option. I have to mention that the system we installed is backed by a generator and not by the public grid.
Thats not correct, the zzz password is used for general settings on some devices, but the gridcode requires its own password. Since that is to be changed by a qualified installer only. The password is given at the installer training. However you may be able to find it through some googling.
If the MP is used solely on generator then you dont need to set a grid code, since you dont have a grid (Even with a grid connection you dont need a gridcode if you dont want to use ESS). So you also dont need the gridcode password.
Yes you definitely dont want a grid code (it will give you nightmares as a generator generally does not meet a code) or ess with a generator.
So leave it be if you are off grid.
Before starting up, I activated the ESS assistant and in the country grid option, I selected my country, Chile, and sent the parameters. But then I was told that the system wouldn’t be connected to the grid, only to a generator. And from what I researched, for the MultiPlus II to detect the generator, you have to change the grid option to other or none and disable a checkbox so the generator can be operational in the system. But when I try to do that, a warning window pops up and asks me for a password. It’s the only detail left for the photovoltaic system to be operational.
So you’re advising me to disable the ESS assistant if only the generator is connected to AC IN?
Yes, as described in the ESS manual it should not be used off-grid
When not to use ESS
In off-grid systems, with or without a generator
In marine systems
In automotive systems
Inverter priority, also known as 'Intentional islanding“ or ‘Ignore AC’ input systems
I recommend to use “none” gridcode
