Hey there. I figured out how to initiate a remote equalize charge via VictronConnect and VRM for SmartSolar Mppts. I know the Multiplus ii in the system is capable of of performing an equalize charge. Does anyone know if this can be initiated remotely via VRM rather than having to go through the sequence of flipping the switch on the front? Here’s the situation. The system is at my Grandma’s and my Aunt and Uncle stay there for 2 months on and off to help out with things. They paid for most of the hardware to install this new setup. I helped install it and will monitor it day to day. It’s been up for just over a week so we figured we would try an equalize charge this afternoon after the mppt’s hit float. We had over 500w coming in for over half an hour via mppt’s but our voltage never hit the value in the equalize setting in the mppt. Target voltage was 15.6 however the mppt’s never went over absorbtion voltage, 14.7. I think we just didn’t have enough sun left in the day. So I asked my uncle, who is there in person, to read the section on how to switch the multiplus over from regular mode to equalize. He fired up the generator and said he figured it out but I watched VRM for over 15 minutes and the multiplus never indicated an equalize mode, it went from absorb to float, but no equalize.
I’m thinking that tomorrow, if there is good sun, we charge up to float off the genny, then try to equalize with the mppt’s again right around noon when there is the most pv power available?
