Hello Community,
I have searched this forum through but could not find any answer - good moment to sign up and become an active member
I have difficulties to charge my batteries with a generator.
my system:
- Multiplus 2 5000/48/70
- 2x Pylontech US3000
- Cerbo GX
- Generator: EP3300 (Europower with 2700Watt continius power, no AVR)
First time i connected the generator, it took a while, but then started to charge smoothly, till the tank got empty. All i had set is the maximum power of the generator through VRM, set to 7 A.
Since then, Multiplus has not accepted it any more.
So, I have made some settings on VEConfigure like you will see on the pictures.
Now it works (Multi accepts the generator and charges the batteris), but the system does not run smoothly:
From the sound of the generator, the taken power is altering heavily.
According to the VRM, the voltage is going up and down, between 240 and 265 Volt. The Watts taken from the Generator are going up to 1500W, breaking down to 0 to climb upwards again. They never stay stable somewhere near 1500 Watts. Every few minutes the Multi disconnects the generator for a while and the trouble starts again.
Beside the batteries there are no consumers on the Multi. I just put, like recommended, a bulb on the generator to keep it more stable.
How do you see my settings?
→ What would make the generator run more harmonious?
→ I have put many settings quite on a wide range (like the accepted Volt). Does this bring some disadvantages or risks?
Unfortunately i have been told by my Victron reseller, that i do not need an AVR. Can my generator still run or do i need to add a AVR to it?
Looking forward for your help, thanx for it in advance!
