Dyness A48100 Capacity Not Showing in Cerbo-S GX / VRM

Hello Victron Community,

I’m setting up a new battery bank with three Dyness A48100 batteries in parallel, connected to a Victron Multiplus II 5000VA, a SmartSolar MPPT 250V 60A, and a Cerbo-S GX. The system was previously running with one Dyness A48100 battery, and I’ve now added two more.

I’ve followed the Dyness installation manual for Victron integration:

  • All batteries are physically connected in parallel (positive to positive, negative to negative).
  • DIP switches are configured as per the manual: Master battery is 0010 (SW3 ON), and Slave batteries are 0000 (all OFF).
  • CAN communication cables are daisy-chained: Master CAN-OUT to Slave1 CAN-IN, Slave1 CAN-OUT to Slave2 CAN-IN.
  • The Master battery’s CAN-IN is connected to the Cerbo-S GX’s BMS.CAN port.
  • A CAN RJ45 terminator is plugged into the Cerbo GX’s BMS.CAN port.
  • In the Cerbo GX, the VE.Can port profile is set to CAN-bus BMS (500 kbit/s).
  • DVCC is enabled in the Cerbo GX settings, with all sub-options (Limit charge current, Limit managed battery charge voltage, SVS, STS, SCS) turned OFF, as recommended for BMS-managed systems.

Current Status and Issue:

  • The Cerbo GX lists the “Dyness-L Battery” device.
  • The battery voltage (e.g., 49.89V) and current (0.0A/0W when idle) are displayed correctly.
*The Discharge Current Limit (DCL) now shows 150A (previously 50A with one battery), which suggests the Cerbo GX is correctly recognizing the combined capacity of the three batteries (3 x 50A = 150A max discharge per module according to the Dyness A48100 manual ).
  • The Charge Current Limit (CCL) also updates dynamically (e.g., currently 20A), indicating active communication from the BMS.

The problem is that I cannot find where the Cerbo GX (either on the device display or via the VRM portal) explicitly shows the total installed battery capacity in Ah (e.g., 300Ah for three 100Ah modules).

  • On the VRM portal, under “Device List,” the “Dyness-L Battery” entry shows “Product: Dyness battery” but still lists “Battery manufacturer: Unknown” and does not display the total Ah capacity directly.

Given that the DCL and CCL are updating correctly based on the combined capacity, it seems the communication is largely successful. However, the absence of an explicit Ah capacity display is concerning for monitoring and confirmation.

My question is:

  • Is there a specific menu path in the Cerbo GX (firmware vX.xx - please specify if this matters) or a particular section in the VRM portal where the total installed capacity for a CAN-bus connected Dyness battery bank should be displayed?
  • Could the “Battery manufacturer: Unknown” indication in VRM despite correct DCL/CCL values point to a subtle communication issue, or is this expected behavior in some firmware versions?

Any guidance or similar experiences from the community would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you in advance.
