Dynamic ESS option missing in VRM and two way communication missing in GX

Hi,

Got my new Cerbo gx MK2, set it up with my multiplusII 48/5000. Set up ESS. Then there was an error saying: two way communication not enabled. Could not find it on my GX interface. I thought, well, lets update everything. So I thought why not go with beta. Updated my multiplus which lost its settings which wasn’t a big deal. But when I updated my Cerbo, the dynamic ESS option went missing in the VRM portal! And that was exactly why I bought the Cerbo. What is going on and what am I doing wrong?

So, Dynamic ESS should be under the Settings menu in VRM. And if it is not, it’s not because of the Beta installed on Cerbo - I’m on beta channel and I have D-ESS available.

Yeah it’s not available in my Cerbo interface as well. Chatgpt suggested me to use VEconfigure on my PC instead of Victron connect to setup my Multiplus 2. Apparently the connect app does not show the option for external control, or I was overlooking it. I’ll try again this evening.

Did you provided full integration of Cerbo with VRM Portal? It can be done via Cerbo settings - but if you have no full integration, it must be done by the local connection to Cerbo.

Don’t know exactly what you mean, but got it finally working. Did not have anything setup wrong for the Cerbo + VRM connection as it shows after all. I guess the update fixed the ‘two way communication’ error.

My laptop does recognize my VE.Bus mk3 tool as com8, but VEConfig does not see it. So I didn’t need that dongle at all in the end. Bit sad that I paid the price for it. But let’s try to forget that. Downloaded my Multiplus 2 config file from the VRM, saw there wasn’t any assistant added. Added the ESS assistant and everything started to make sense. All weird behavior from earlier when my inverter wasn’t set up correctly made sense now. Came right up in the ESS menu on my GX. Then my VRM let me use DESS again and started to make money for me.
