I am new to the forum so please excuse me if this question has already been answered.
I am looking to purchase the above Multiplus II 12v/4000 watt 2x120v inverter charger for my RV and I need to get a document from Victron that states where it was manufactured.
The reason for this is that my country is putting tariffs on certain countries manufactured products and I need to show this document to customs to avoid paying the tariffs as it was not built there, only being sold there.
Since those aren’t available here in North America yet (you’ll be looking at around 5 or so weeks before they hit our shores) this question hasn’t been asked yet!
That unit is currently manufactured in India (PMP122405200) although I’m not certain that an official document will be released for that, since sometimes manufacturing is shifted to Malaysia as well.
To be clear, your Victron distributor should be the one dealing with tariffs and customs declarations, though, and they know where the units are manufactured so they should be the ones to be filing that paperwork in any case.
Editing to add: If you’re not in the US, but are buying a unit in the US and having it exported to a different country, I’ll suggest that you consider purchasing from an authorized Victron distributor in your country to avoid import/export issues (https://www.victronenergy.com/where-to-buy)
