Any idea how I can display the temperature of the batteries connected to my VE.Bus BMS? I have several Lithium Smart 25.6V 200Ah batteries connected via their monitoring cables to the BMS. I can see the individual battery temperatures on the Victron Connect app and the BMS is monitoring them to control the MPPT charger but I don’t seem to be able to find the temperature on the VRM app. Any ideas? I’m monitoring the system using a Raspberry Pi running Venus OS Large and NodeRed. Thanks.
The BMS is monitoring the temperature ok. I want to be able to monitor it remotely rather than via Bluetooth.
The VE.Bus BMS doesn’t have bluetooth, nor monitor temperature. The batteries have BT and monitor their own temperature, and if temperature or voltage is out of spec they tell the BMS to disable charging (or discharging, depending on the error). As such, the BMS itself doesn’t know the temperature, and cannot send that information to the GX device or VRM.
Thanks Justin that makes sense. I’ll investigate temperature sensing using the RPi and external sensors.
