DESS changed setting in VRM without permission set interfall from 15 min to 60

Yesterday the first of october the interfall on the trade mark is shift from 60 min to 15 interfall. I have small DESS setup 3 fase 45 KhW. I use standard VRM options no Node Red. During the initial setup of dess i choose 15 min interfalls in the price chart settings. With the assumptions if the frist of oktober the Dess system is also swift to 15 min interfall. Because that is setting telling. After last week the interface also make a rimple in the stability i was happy to see that fix quickly. But what i now notice maken me not happy. Yesterday 30 september 2025 i saw in the VRM portal a graph with 15 min, but later in the evening the graph set also 60 min interfalls. But that is only 50% of the issue. Also my settings in the VRM portal are changed. Not by me but by Victron probably.
Yesterday 30 sep-2025 there where also node red issues related to this topic adressed. There was a note that there were average prices going to be sent by the API for node red that was not supported any more. What i understood. But that should not brake normal customers that use not Node Red, but standard options should not be hurt. 15 min interfalls is know for a long time and Victron has prepare for that, you can choose for this option in DESS. My request is fixed it right ASAP with 15 min intervals in DESS in VRM. Fixing the Node Red should not brake down my setup that 100% native in VRM portal.

Picture yesterday around midday

Changed to this morning changes made not by me…..

I had hope that the VMR environment is a stable reliable environment for my 9500 euro system that i have build. And yes 9500 euro is for me a lot of money.
My system is now running for a couple of weeks. I like to have it stable for a week of 4/5 to get how it works. For that is need a trusted stable VRM portal also.

Please fix the issues at the core correct and i have the trust Victron can. Kind regards Norbert

Hey Norbert,

I see that your installation has 60 minutes set for both buy and sell. What might have happened is that last week, we reset all the Netherlands settings to 60 mins, as it wasn’t supported then and we rolled out a redesign.

This should not have happened, so I’ll check with the team if that could be the case. For now I set your installation settings back to 15 mins, and I expect you to see this reflected in the graphs in about 5-10 minutes.

If you need any more support, please do let me know!

@Barbara See my screen shot please.. After the update of the lay out i put it back on 15 min… now it set back on 60 min. Other wise i cloud not have that screen shot. It wasn’t me that made the change. My suspicion is, that it is related to the other node red issues.
Can you confirm if i changed it back to 15 min DESS is als switch to 15 min, because that graph switch yesterday als not 15 min inter falls (sell cost earnings usge graph ). That look also strange. Only the price graph was in 15 min interfalls
Question: Is fully DESS supporting 15 min price interfalls (YES /NO)? If no that oke bun then when? I like to have a reliable stable setup thats one of the reason i make the choice for victron. An yes 15 min prices are new that need some changes in the backround. Working also in the IT sector.

Hey! DESS supports 15 minute prices. So you can turn it / leave it on 15 minute interval and it all works.

As your system uses Dynamic ESS only with VRM, the NodeRED issues do not affect you at all

Just a heads-up: From what I am experiencing there are still quite a few issues that are not primarily Node-RED related even though Node-RED automation can be involved for analysis of those issues and possibly creating workarounds. Some examples (random order):

  • VRM-API , installation stats, does not allow querying 15 minute interval data, prices for example.
  • VRM DESS scheduler silently ignores ESS ‘Scheduled charge levels’
  • The precision of the DESS active timeslot SoC target is limited to a single digit (1%). For a sizeable battery say 100kWh that is 1kWh, roughly the same energy a MP II 5000 can produce in a 15 minute timeslot. The DESS power setpoint control process needs at least an order higher (active SoC target for this timeslot) precision (0.1%) to be able to function well.
  • Not being able to select 15 minute view for energy and other graphs makes troubleshooting DESS behaviour per 15 minutes much more complicated than it needs to be.

Not all above is new, but the switchover to 15 minutes pricing has (arguable at least) quadrupled their impact on DESS’s quirks and control issues.
