DC surplus feed-in with Multi Solar RS 6000/48/100

Hi everyone, I have a question. My Victron system consists of 3x Multi Solar RS 6000 inverters, a VM-3P75CT, Cerbo GX, Smart Solar 250/100 and Smart Solar 250/85. The Multi Solar RS units feed surplus PV power into the grid when the battery is full.

How can I get the Smart Solar units to do the same? Feed-in only works with the PV power connected directly to the Multi Solar RS units. The Smart Solar units are currently being curtailed, or throttling themselves down to 0. Is there a trick or a Node-RED flow that would allow the Multi Solar RS units to feed the additional PV power into the grid too?

Alternatively, it would be enough if someone could write me a flow that feeds 10 kW into the grid when the battery is at 99%, then switches back to the standard ESS setting at 95%. That should work too. Unfortunately, I don’t know my way around Node-RED yet.

The ESS functions in conjunction with the Multi RS don’t yet offer the same range of features as an ESS with standard MultiPlus units.

You can probably do something with Node-RED.

With three Multi RS units, you can already handle around 15 kW of PV, so rather than adding more MPPTs, I would have installed a PV inverter on the AC side to take some of the load off the Multi RS units.

The Multi RS units probably can’t convert all your PV power to AC for feeding into the grid anyway.

I previously had an SMA system with Tigo optimisers, but almost all of them failed within the first six years. They were replaced, but the replacements always have to be done by the owner. To alleviate the problem somewhat, I’ve now removed all the Tigo optimisers and created four strings to avoid the shading. The combined peak PV output of the two SmartSolar MPPTs is 9 kW. Only 2 kW of PV capacity is connected to the MultiSolar RS, and that’s to one of the three units. Since the MultiSolar RS string capacity is only 3 kW, I would otherwise have had to run countless new cables across the house, so I bought the additional SmartSolar MPPTs. Would it be possible to provide me with an example Node-RED flow so I can try it out? When I tried generating one with ChatGPT, Node-RED flagged numerous character errors, so I can’t use it.

@M_Lange Is it reasonable to expect the DC surplus feed-in feature to be added in one of the next firmware versions of the Multi RS Solar?

In the meantime, I was able to solve the problem using Node-RED, but I wasn’t keen on that solution. So I extended the cables for each string and connected them directly to the Multi RS 6000.

We installed the RS 6000 without an internal MPPT, and added SmartSolar MPPTs.

But they simply throttle back when the battery is full. Why isn’t the surplus being fed into the grid?

All the settings for feed-in are configured, just as you would do with an MP II.

Everything else works perfectly. It’s only the feed-in from the MPPTs that doesn’t work.
