Datalogging with MPPT 100/20 Controller

Hello everyone,
I am currently working on my diploma thesis which is based on an experimental research of a PV-Battery-Loads System. At the lab we have a datalogger installed, but we have no available input channels for the current of the battery and the current and voltage of the loads.

That lead us to buy the MPPT 100/20 SolarCharger in order to monitor and save tha data that we want. Unfortunately we saw that through the VictronConnect we could just monitor the data from our computers and not save them during the experiment.

My question is: **Is there a way to use the MPPT controller as a datalogging device? Can we save the data of a whole day and export them in an excel sheet? Do we need another device like Cerbo Gx?

Use a USB to RS232 converter (5V TTL signal level) to read data over the VE.Direct interface, which is basically RS232. A simple program in Python, C or something ready-made will help for interogation and data saving in a file.

VE.Direct protocol/parameters are freely available here.

This project might be of help as well.
