Hi. I got a Smart Solar MPPT 75/15 charge controller. I conncted it with a PC using Victron Connect and even though i see in “Trends” the different data, i cannot store them and take them for example in a excel file. Is this not possible?
The same via Bluetooth. Why the data in “Trends” cannot be downloaded to an excel file?
Hi GeorgeS,
Trends data can not be exported at this moment.
While i realise your question is “how to download the trend data”, i’m going to read through that and (possibly incorrectly) presume you want to do something more with the data, so the real question is “how can i get the same data that the trend graph has access to”
If this is the case, you might want to look at the GX options, Cerbo, Cerbo-S, etc etc, or if you want something even cheaper, consider the Raspberry Pi and load VenusOS on it. Venus OS is the same OS that the Cerbo runs, the only thing you don’t get is some of the sockets for bus types, like VE.CAN, CAN-Bus and VE.Bus, but for your 75/15, you just need VE.Direct.
Pi don’t have that out-of-the-box, but if you plug in a USB to VE.Direct cable (see your local distributor, these are about $50 usd) then its plug-and-play.
Now you jump into NodeRed, or read the MQQT messages, and you can get all that data.
There are lots of benefits to having a GX device, and almost all the benefits also come along with the Pi, but i do accept that its not as convenient as having a “download csv” feature.
Dear Mauricio
thank you for your response. That means in the future it will possible?
Thank you for your response. You have understood well. I want to get the trend data and store them in a PC.
Since i am not familiar with Raspberry Pi, you mean to connect VE.Direct cable to a usb port of Raspberry Pi? Can i use Arduino, instead?
Have a look here at all the platforms the Venus OS has been ported to;
