Newest battery as master and you will need an LV HUB I think pylon call it. As the daisy chain BMS will only run 16 batteries without that HUB so 1 master and 15 slave batteries. If using A/CAN there is no need to change dip switches
Thanks so much for letting me know about the LV hub. I have in the meantime purchased an LV hub. However the set up has not been successful. We are using the multi battery groups set up as we currently have 2 strings totaling 27 batteries but will expand again in the future and will exceed the 5 groups of 8 batteries.
To be exact, we have on string 1 = 1 x US 5000 (master master) + 12 US 2000 and string 2 = 14xUS 2000
I have followed the following set up protocol:
Inverter Off
Batteries Off
The cables are connected as in description using Victron cables
On the hub the dpi-switches appear as 000001
For start up:
Batteries are turned on in sequential order starting with master-master
SW pushed on master-master and then on the 2nd string master
All batteries light up and green status
3 beeps from master-master
master-master dipswitch changed to 0010
LV hub switched on
beep confirmed and blinking status green and the #2 indictor light is blinking
Inverter is turned back on and power is back
here comes my question/problem while it appears all is working, the Cerbo does not register the number of batteries at all. (see foto)
From the internet, I understand that LV firmware might need to be updated, however how to find out if needed and actions is very unclear. Below I have attached fotos of the current system
Any advice on next steps or pointing me in the right direction is much appreciated.
