Today (Sunday 26th July) the cerbo relays and the MP-II box disappeared from the VRM portal and it wouldn’t work in “realtime”. Have others experienced this?
I’ve seen that sort of thing when the internet connection from the GX goes down. The GX can’t receive commands or provide realtime data when this happens.
It seems to be just you or your region. Outages like that get noticed fast. Almost certainly something specific to you or your site, typically bad wifi/internet.
Dear Nick, thanks for your reply.
There is no issue with connectivity, the console still works in real time (classic or v2).
I am referring specifically to the “Dashboard” display using either the VRM app or a web browser
The change is that the new(ish) “details” icon has moved to the right of the screen, displacing the relays icon. Also the box below the graphic which used to display the MP-II data (above the weather) has disappeared.
The data displayed still updates every 60 seconds (the log interval of my Cerbo), but “Last Updated” no longer changes to “Realtime” on opening. This is independent of device (phones or laptops). It’s as if the “Realtime Updates” “General” setting (“More<->Settings<->General”) is being ignored. I have obviously checked this and it says it’s still enabled. If you have contact with Victron perhaps you could pass this on?
Thank you
Peter
Do you any mods loaded? Any modbus devices configured on the GX or other device integrations?
Comms can be an issue that blocks realtime connections, it is the most common. There are no issues I am aware of that could cause this, so it is almost certainly something local. Trick is finding it.
Thanks again Nick, that was quick.
I’ve checked and modbus/TCP is disabled, as is MQTT on the Cerbo.
I have a very simple setup with no mods:
MP-II; Cerbo Gx Mk 2; 2 x 150/45 SmartSolar and 2x BSL 5kWh batteries.
I do have relay assistants loaded on the MP-II to use the aux relay and k1 relays to enable an immersion heater and disconnect loads on overload. I can remove these and see if anything changes, but not without a bit of disruption.
I looked in my VRM profile and found 3 API access tokens. I’m a hardware guy, application programming interfaces aren’t my area of expertise. Can I delete these and start again?
Thanks again
Peter
Removing tokens are fine, if you don’t need them the system doesn’t.
It can’t cause the issue you are experiencing.
What venus OS are you using?
Have your tried rebooting your router?
Do you have a mk3 and does it happen to be connected at the same time?
I presume the multi is listed in the GX device list?
Hi Nick, once again thanks for your time on this. Glad to say normal service has been resumed:
I had previously tried shutting the system down:-isolate panels; turn off multi; isolate batteries. Then bringing it back online in reverse order. Today, in desperation, I tried something I wouldn’t normally do. I simply pulled the power plug on the Cerbo, with the system running! On rebooting everything has been restored. I reckon the multi hadn’t been fully initialised when the Cerbo was initially examining the system, after power-up.
Btw, very impressed by your kit and your support.
Thanks again, Peter
