This autumn, I want to build a three-phase ESS based on three MultiPlus II units (5000 VA or 6k5) and the well-known JKBMS (v19 or newer). I’m wondering whether there are any specific things I should take into account when choosing between a Cerbo with display and an Ekrano.
As I understand it, the CPU in the latter is supposed to be somewhat more powerful, the whole system more energy-efficient, etc. But is there anything else I need to consider in terms of functionality? It’s not inconceivable that the device will also be used to control a heat pump to a limited extent, an EV charger (not installed yet), and my metered Enphase system.
If you need a screen get an ekrano. If not the cerbo is fine for 99.9% of cases and the 0.1% involves plenty of customisation.
The type of gx has no bearing on efficiency.
All of that can be done perfectly well with a Cerbo, as mentioned. If you want to be able to monitor the system at all times without a smartphone/tablet/PC, you could get a display.
I have a similar system myself, but without a display. Once the system is up and running, there’s little or nothing that needs configuring.
VRM is more convenient because of its graphical overviews and statistics.
Cloud monitoring and management. You can use a dedicated android head as a remote display locally over your network or any other IP device.
There is also a separate screen that can be added.
Have a dig through the main product site. Everything you need is there.
As nickdb mentions, VRM is an online environment for monitoring via a PC, tablet or phone over the internet.
On the Cerbo/Ekrano, you have a local remote console that provides limited insight into what is happening with your system, as well as allowing you to configure standard settings. This is accessed via a web server, but displays exactly the same view as a Cerbo (or Ekrano) screen.
@Rene71 Look at the Nucleo GX which cannot take a GX Touch screen, but has the power of an Ekrano. If you don’t need a screen and will access it via other means, it maybe fit your requirement.
