Im doing an install in a large boat, where i want 2 displays, one main display at Switchboard and other at helm well aware of the Android tablet but am keen to have a OEM solution IE another Cerbo display
I have connected it all up on a test bed and everything i need works APART from the AC input on the overview, am i jsut asking 2 much, ?
cerbo A has External COntrol on screen, “salve Cerbo” has Bulk ( thats fine just want powerflow) Also a note you can see the AC input when u go into the MPII shows so the info is there, Also the info is on the VRM
What you can do with the second cerbo (and node red on both) is create a virtual system/devices which basically harvests information from the First (primary GX) to display on the second one.
Hi Ian. Yes I’m probably over thinking it. Just always always more wary of integrating and relying on household items for commercial/ marine use.
have u got a brand u can share that is as u say waterproof ext. I would love something powered and mounted also so a more permanent oem looking option.
All depends how much you want to pay and how big you want the tablet to be. I wanted a reasonably cheap 8" one and ended up with a Ulefone Armor Pad which works fine, could be a bit brighter for full sunlight use (500NITs) , Oukitel make a similar model (RT3 pro, 600NITs).
There are now brighter ones available for a bit more, for example Ulefone RugKing Pad Pro is 850NITs for about £170.
I find it’s useful to have it moveable around, so when you’re steering the boat you can put it wherever is most suitable, but also take it inside to use as a display/control surface.
There are even brighter ones but they’re heavier and thicker and really expensive (e.g. £575)…
