I am helping a friend sort out his Victron system and have run across a problem I can’t figure out. On his Cerbo we can see the Multiplus II and control it (on-off-automatic), but we are not seeing the AC in/out as I think you should be able to see. Also it’s rather odd that the Cerbo shows the inverter as off (when it’s on). Any ideas/directions to figure this out?
(All Victron devices have been updated to the latest firmware)
Where is this control? Auto is not a standard state for an MP, usually you have control that are labeled On/Off/Charger only/Inverter only. Having Auto sounds like some custom nodered thing.
How are the MP II AES and search modes set? Do you have an AC load on it?
AES (Automatic Economy Switch)
If this setting is turned ‘on’, the power consumption in no-load operation and with low loads is decreased by approximately 20%, by slightly ‘narrowing’ the sinusoidal voltage. Applicable in stand-alone configuration only.
Search Mode
Instead of the AES mode, the search mode can also be chosen. If search mode is ‘on’, the power consumption in no-load operation is decreased by approximately 70%. In this mode the MultiPlus-II, when operating in inverter mode, is switched off in case of no load or very low load, and switches on every two seconds for a short period. If the output current exceeds a set level,
the inverter will continue to operate. If not, the inverter will shut down again.
The Search Mode ‘shut down’ and ‘remain on’ load levels can be set with VEConfigure.
The standard settings are:
Shut down: 40 Watt (linear load)
Turn on: 100 Watt (linear load)
No, the rocker switch takes precedence over any other input.
Yes, that would be the standard.
The reason im asking about the MP state is because im seeing the same image on my Cerbo, but there im deliberately switching the inverter off, so there cant be any info from it
But does it turn up in Settings and Devices? Are you sure that the communication cable is known good? Since pins 6+7 are responsible for on/off and standby, while 4+5 are for the communication. So if 4+5 are flipped or not connected through, then 6+7 can still turn the MP on/off
