My GX has been online for about 18 hours and set to automatically find, download, and install firmware updates, but it still shows version 3.36. What am I missing?
Did you try to manually search and install the update?
You can also check/install updates via VRM.
Or download the FW from Victron Professional, copy it to a USB drive, plug that into the Cerbo and install the update from there.
BTW it’s not recommend to set the updates zu automatic.
My WiFi internet connection has been weak and intermittent, especially throughout the day, but the last few times I checked VRM the status was online. I won’t leave it on automatic update, but I was hoping it would be more persistent through the night than I was.
I think a weak WiFi and/or internet connection can cause that problem.
You should try to do it manually via a USB drive.
Is weak reception a trait of the Cerbo? Mine struggles even with close by and strong access points. Could the firmware update help that? If it’s a problem with the on board WiFi, are some external USB WiFi adapters better than others? Does the Cerbo have to use 2.4 GHz, or can it also use 5 GHz if fitted with an adapter that uses the frequency?
As far as I know the internal WiFi can only 2,4Ghz.
I’m not sure how that works with an external WiFi dongle.
Just use an USB stick or SD card to manually install the FW.
