Cerbo GX can't update anymore

Hi there,

We are having issues with an installation that has been running for a few years, but last week started showing signs of strange behaviour.
On VRM there was no longer historic data being displayed, but the device appeared online. Remote monitor worked, but when attempting to update the Cerbo to the 3.66 software (from 3.54) it says there is no new update available? I tried to put the firmware on a usb stick and inserted that. Nothing. Tried to use the reset code on another usb stick. No luck. I have had some connectivity issues after an update or something, but this one is new and really stubborn.

Anyone any ideas about what else to do or try? (other then replace the Cerbo ofcourse)

Cheers,

Luc

Can you log in with SSH? and run df -h

I will have to give that a try. We use a GX LTE module with the setup, so I will try and see if I can connect my laptop and run the command on SSH. I will update you soon

Hi Fredd, I took my laptop to the Cerbo, enabled SSH and connected to the system. Command runs, the filesystem was at 47% use. I then went ahead and ran the commands to do a factory reset manually over SSH which worked and then tried again without success. I then had a brainwave to take out the GX LTE and try over my Wi-Fi hotspot. This allowed the cerbo to update without issue.. I tried putting the GX LTE into another usb port, but got no response from it anymore. When putting it back into the first port, it worked again but still with updating issues. I feel like I either have some corrupt GX LTE driver or corrosion in one or multiple ports. I will try and get a network connection from the GX LTE to test if this has issues, otherwise I will replace the Cerbo GX.
Thanks for your idea of going the SSH route! That was a real eye opener for me.

Not all USB ports are “USB“
