Carlo Gavazzi EM540 - Meter is changing measurement mode

Hello Victron Community,

I am running into a recurring issue with a Carlo Gavazzi EM540 kWh meter. After approximately 7 days of operation, the device automatically switches its Measurement Mode from “A” (intended setting) to “C.”

The configuration is set correctly at installation, and no manual changes are being made. We have another EM540 in a similar PV setup with the same configuration, which does not exhibit this behavior.

  • Firmware: 1.4.3

  • Communication: Modbus RTU

  • Environment: VRM/Multiplus II/Cerbo GX

Has anyone experienced this behavior before, and is there a way to lock or force the EM540 to remain in the configured measurement mode?

Any insights or recommendations would be highly appreciated.

Last update on this issue: Victron has reviewed the case and determined that the behavior is not correct. The EM540 will be replaced.
