I’ve finally been able to fix my issues connecting my diy battery with JK V19 BMS to my Victron Gx.
It’s simple but there aren’t many places where an easy solution is outlined. There’s a post on the Victron Community that mentions using a Victron can cable type B. I bought a can cable but it turns out there are two versions of Victron can cables, type A & type B. I had the type A.
There’s also a way of splicing any network cable and joining just three cable to make the bms communicate with the Gx. It’s really easy. Just cut a network cable. There are multiple types of network cables. This thread doesn’t allow me to ttatch pics for the different types. The only difference for our purposes is the color of the cables.
For a type B can cable, you need 3 cables. The pin 3 cable on the Victron side has to connect to the pin 2 cable on the bms side, pin 8 on the Victron side to pin 5 on the bms side, and pin 7 (Victron) to pin 4 (bms). Pics attatched of just that and the color sequence of the different types of cables you can find.
