I want to upgrade my system by adding a Victron 24V NG 200Ah battery and Victron Lynx NG 500 BMS. I have a non Victron DCtoDC charger (enerdrive brand) and a non Victron ACtoDC charger (enerdrive brand). Can these be connected to the Victron Lynx NG BMS and function correctly?
The charges have a standard lithium setting which includes being able to set the bulk and float charge voltages.
My MPPT chargers are Victron.
My system will only have the Victron Lynx NG 500 BMS without a GX device, as per the example below from Victron
3.5.3. Lynx Smart BMS NG only
For a very slim-line system, the Lynx Smart BMS NG can be used alone. This is useful if the system contains a single lithium battery or a single series string of lithium batteries together with a simple DC system.
Please also note that no GX device is used. It is not absolutely necessary for the operation of the Lynx Smart BMS NG. However, without a GX device it is impossible to control compatible inverter/chargers and MPPTs via DVCC.
My DCtoDC charger and ACtoDC charger do not have an input for switching them ON and OFF. They instead, rely on measuring the voltage of the battery, to determine when to switch on and off. and also when to change from Bulk and Float. This is typical of chargers from other manufacturers.
Will this cause any problems?
