I have a BMV712 Smart that occasionally will fail to sync with the VictronConnect app.
When I open the app - instead of my custom name - it will show the generic name, and when I click on it, it does the
‘connecting 20..40..80..’ then the ‘Fetching Data’ comes up - and instead of that finishing in a second or 2 - it spins forever.
In that mode I can click on the ‘I’ button and it will show the unit info. I can walk over to the unit itself and read anything I need to.
This will continue for maybe hours - then the next morning or so - I bring up the list of devices and there is it - custom name - and immediately connects and fetches data. Very odd.
I actually have 2 independent house banks - so have 2 BMV712 monitors - and this only happens on one of them.
Can you please create a Service Report when this happens and you tried to connect to the BMV? Then please attach that service report here to a reply. This might give us some more information on what is going on.
This looks like a hardware problem within the BMV. From the service report, it looks like the internal bluetooth dongle at that point has lost communication with the battery monitor part and only transfers the data of the dongle itself. Why it returns after a while is unclear, but perhaps it is just a very intermittent contact between the internal dongle and the battery monitor part.
