I have a simple system on a 35’ boat with a 65Ah starter battery and a 100Ah leisure battery. I replaced the old analog volt meter with a 712 smart shunt and it reads the voltages correctly but tells me I’ve got 250amps going out and SOC is zero % !! No smoke or fire so that can’t be correct. I’ve reviewed the installation and it is as per the instructions??
Does this display 250A if you only have the shunt positive and negative connected to the battery without anything connected to the system side of the shunt. Check the cable between the shunt and the display, is this clear of any ac cables or other interference and with clean dry contacts. Have you got the right shunt selected in the Settings > Misc category. Have you tried a zero current calibration.
