BMV-712 lost connection to Easysolar (CCGX)

About 3 weeks ago all of sudden my BMV-712 stopped showing up in my Easysolar setup. It is connected to the CCGX with a ve.direct cable. Have been trying to troubleshoot for a few weeks now and are out of ideas on what more to try or proceed to replacing components.

  • The BMV-712 works (otherwise) fine, shows up in victronconnect (bluetooth)
  • I have verified the CCGX ve.direct cable port works → used cables to connect other devices (like external bluesolar)
  • Updated all components to latest firmwares. The CCGX has 3.60 (briefly went to beta 3.70 just to check if it that)
  • Resetted and disconnected BMV-712 (several times)

Any tips on what to try next or to verify which component is failing?
Thanks, Jupe

hey @Jupinho is it OK if we login remotely to check what the issue is?

Is the BMV connected at the moment?

System is Heposaari, right? I see that the remote support feature is enabled.

Thank you.

That firmware downgrade to 3.55 (that somebody suggested) worked!! Everything is working again. Thank you so much

Good that it works again!

Meanwhile, we’ve found a bug in v3.60 and v3.62 that causes this issue.

Some (early) production batches of BMVs are affected, and what happens is that the BMV is no longer visible after updating to v3.60 or later.

We’ll fix this soon in a beta version and thereafter in Official release v3.63.

BMVs (and other VE.Direct connected products) are affected when they report a non-standard serialnumber. Normal is one similar to HQ0000ABCDE. And for example yours reports a serial number 2. Its visible on the Device list on VRM.

Why it reports a serialnumber of 2 is unknown. And it doing that is no issue at all. As long as that doesn’t cause issues like this ofcourse.
