BMV-700 shunt wiring help

Hi All,

I’ve just got a BMV-700 battery monitor, I currently have a Victron dc dc 30 non isolated charger in the back of my vehicle. Looking at the instructions it’s not fully clear how to wire the load side up of the shunt.

The battery side obviously goes to the battery, but does the load side go the grounding point that all my electrical gizmos attach to? Or somewhere else.

Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

Shunt wiring

All other -ve connections, including the ground go to the load side.
The battery negative and the shunt negative must have no other connections - this causes a bypass of the shunt.

Ok thank you, so all of my -ve cables go to the same ground point that has multiple terminals on it to allow for multiple cables ext. If I connect the load of the shunt to one of those terminals, will that be correct?

yes, presumably that negative buss has one cable going to the battery -ve? That cable needs to effectively be cut in the middle, and the shunt inserted.

Yes you are correct, I had a suspicion that would be the case but thought best to check first. Thanks for the help!
