Hi All, i have bought a BlueSolar PWM Charge Controller – LCD - USB (12v 30A) and connected it to a single 150w solar panel in order to charge a 160ah lithium battery from Itechworld. I am finding that the unit is not charging the battery. I have checked the profile and everything else. any ideas?
How do you recognize the Controller is not charging the battery?
Did you connect the battery first? As far as I remember you have to connect the battery first so the charge controller will identify the system voltage and then adapt the PV array voltage to that.
There is sometimes no arrow on the screen between the battery and controller, the battery is only 35% charged and in standby mode.
Did you study the instruction?
There it is stated directly on the first page, - contact the battery first to allow the controller to know the correct system voltage.
Please disconnect everything, connect battery first, then the PV module. If this still does not work, I would guess the voltage setting is wrong and the the charge controller “thinks” the battery is already full.
Can you tell us the settings you made?
I am not sure what part of my original post it was where i said that i didn’t follow the instructions??? All connections were made in accordance with the instructions in the first place
. We may have worked out the issue, the Lithium Profile on the controller isn’t quite set to suit the battery i have. I have contacted the Battery company and they have said to set it to Lead Acid (wet) profile with higher Absorption voltage and the battery management system in the lithium battery will compensate.
Seems to be working ok at the moment.
