BlueSolar PWM Charge Controller + SMF will that work?

hey, all im dipping my toes, making my first solar setup,
and have a BlueSolar PWM Charge Controller and an 80 amp SMF battery.
but it seems that they are not compatible? if so, should i exchange the controller or the battery?

is there any info on why they dont work together?

any suggestions are welcome.

If you have the external control panel, then the voltage set points of the PWM charge controller can be adjusted.
I gave up on these for this reason, and use the MPPT 75/10 instead.
