Adding IP65 smartshunt to new RV

I have a new Winnebago RV that has two group 31 batteries installed in parallel. I have a new Victron IP65 monitor I want to install. I take a look at the instructions, take a look at the battery bay (pic of the factory spaghetti below) and have NO idea how to hook it up; there’s no simple “move a cable to each end of the shunt, but you can’t have anything attached to a load to that terminal” or at least that I can see. My goal was to get some baselines before adding a third solar panel.
Any suggestions? Please use one syllable words as I’m a total rank amateur when it comes to this. Thanks!!

Wow… OEM installations never fail to surprise me with their nonsense.

Honestly, I’d say get with a systems installer to have all that corrected before your battery monitor installation is attempted. Making sense of what’s going on in there and then correcting it is going to be a bit of a process.

It looks like you have charging on the left battery and the system negative on the right. I think all you need to do is remove the charge negative and the system negative and connect them to the system side of the shunt and then a short cable to common ground on the battery. I wonder if you have enough cable?

Did you get it squared away? I just did the same thing to our WGO class B van. It was a little simpler because things were more spread óut to ”see” how things were laid out.
In my install, I switched over to lithiums. Had to change solar controller and converter. Both plug and play, same wiring, fitment etc.

No, it got cold too fast on me. Based on the charging rates/capacities I’ve been seeing with the existing 200w going into two G31 batteries, adding another 200w panel will probably get me where I want to go without switching to lithium, at least not now.
